Dear D51 Colleagues and Families,

It was another great week in D51, y’all! And it was a week of continued celebrations for our district. From celebrating academic success, to recognizing state champs in sports like golf, it’s a great time to be a part of the D51 Family!

The highlight of my week was getting out to schools to celebrate their academic achievements as Performance Schools! The highest academic rating in the state that a school can earn is the Performance rating, and 82% of our schools earned that rating this year…an all time high for D51! This week I visited Pomona Elementary, which earned the Performance rating for the 8th year in a row, Wingate Elementary, which earned the Performance rating for the 9th year in a row, Lincoln Orchard Mesa Elementary, which not only earned the Performance rating, but also jumped by over 10 points on their School Performance Framework, STEAM@Tope Elementary, which earned the Performance rating for the 8th year in a row, and Loma Elementary, which earned the Performance rating for the 7th year in a row and scored in the top 3 on their School Performance Framework out of all D51 schools! Shoutout to the students, staff, and families at all of these schools for their hard work. And a special shoutout to Principal P, Principal Schrader, Principal McCurry, Principal Kennedy, and Principal Wimsatt for your leadership in these schools! Leadership matters, and we have great leaders serving our schools. I can’t wait to get out and celebrate even more of our Performance Schools in the coming weeks.
