I hope y'all had a great week! This week I was able to continue meeting with my Superintendent Student Advisory Groups. I met with my Grand Junction High School group on Monday, my Central High School group on Thursday, and my Grand River Academy group today. These lunchtime hangouts are one my favorite things to do as the Superintendent, and they give me an opportunity to connect with and hear directly from our D51 students. We chatted about the impact tech (not just phones) have on adolescents, how social media and technology impacts our mood, focus, and relationships, and the importance of students spending time outdoors. Shoutout to Principal Sorensen, Principal Hayward, and Principal States for creating space for me to have these opportunities. And shoutout to the students for being amazing ambassadors for their schools.
